We wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year. Now is a good time to resolve to follow the divine teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. We have many tools to offer you in order to help you put those wonderful teachings into practice. We hope all the new offerings that are featured in the current issue will be useful to you. There was a joyous celebration of the birth of Christ here at the Merton
Sai Centre with the youth and kids who sang many Christmas

WE
ARE GOD – OUR TRUE REALITY by Sensei Deena Naidu
On many occasions Baba had said, "I am God and you too are God".
On another occasion, he would say, "You and I are One" meaning the whole
of humanity. WE are God. The author has written this book with many
quotations from Baba and also from the Bible. The book brings out the following
message:
The purpose of human life is more than just living and earning money. It is about finding out the real meaning of existence and how to merge into something greater than we can imagine. This will lead us to the highest source who is the creator of all of us and also who is in us. He also says that there are no doubts that all inspirations of love in the form of goodness comes from God within and all the destructive, inhuman qualities comes from bad influences on the outside of oneself. We must constantly use our intellect to check what is good and what is bad. Eventually this strong force will direct us to a quality that belongs to God. This translates to GOD-NESS. Through constant practice of meditation prayer and selfless service activities we will lead ourselves to self-realization. Goodness comes from purity of the heart. Dedication comes from prayers and loving God with all of ones heart. JESUS says that we must love God with all our heart, soul and mind. How can we say we love God when we harm and hurt others? Sai Baba says the grace of God is like an insurance policy. It will help us if we do our duty with Love and sincerity. Whatever we put we will get it back. This is how true insurance works. Life is like a ladder. At the moment we are on the middle rung called humanism. We either go upwards or downwards based on our behaviour. On the top lives LOVE and at the bottom lies despair. LIBERATOR
SAI by R.C. Nair – a lovely book for any spiritual seeker
A beautifully written book about Sathya Sai Baba, Liberator Sai succinctly
describes Baba’s life and teachings.
The book begins with the chapter on the author’s transformation from
a non-believer to a believer followed by a detailed explanation of the
nine-point code of conduct, which is the key to liberation. The subsequent
chapters describe the multiple facets of Sai as a student, reformer, mother,
father, architect, scientist, animal lover, healer, humorist and much more.
The final chapters summarize the divine teachings, which if we choose to
follow, will help us win the love and grace of God. The chapter Revelations
discusses the mission and the purpose of the Sai Avatar, which dispels
the doubts of many critics. The Revelations also contain the story
of the early years of Shirdi Sai Baba, the previous incarnation of Sri
Sathya Sai Baba.
Besides his own personal experience Mr. Nair’s source of information
are the books Loving God, Seeking Divinity, God lives in India, Sathya
Sai Speaks, Sathyam Shivam Sundaram and Other than you refuge there is
none. This is truly a wonderful book that gives invaluable information
for transforming into a Godly being. The author’s articulate style
of writing captures the reader’s attention from beginning till the end.

TRYST
WITH DIVINITY – Review by Gopal Mehta
This book gives the readers the message of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai
Baba’s love for the humanity and the transformation that He is bringing
into the lives of people. Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s love and grace is
encompassing human beings all the four corners of the world. This
book contains the experiences of one such family who lived for sometime
in Africa before returning to India. All the members of this family
have unique experiences of Baba’s infinite love and grace and they are
sharing them with the readers of this book. Most of them started
with skepticism about Baba at first but soon turned into ardent devotees
due to His infinite blessings.
The author has recorded many educating and faith-enriching experiences including the one when Prema Sai Baba (the third Sai Avatar yet to come) appears before the author and her mother. She also narrates the conversation that took place in the interview room at Prashanti Nilayam between Bhagavan Baba and some young African students of Sri Sai Baba’s school in Zambia. Once again these events are revealing the divine love and powers of Bhagavan Baba. There is also a message in the book about slow but definite transformation that comes in the lives of most of those who go to Him for material and physical problems and sufferings. After their contact with Baba and experiencing His unconditional love, their values, desires and attitude to life changes and their lives get new meaning and sense of purpose. It is an interesting book where Baba is described as the Embodiment of Supreme Divinity which guards, sustains and educates all those who surrender to Him. Price: CA$6.50;US$4.60

AWAKENING – Review by Vani Madgal
As an offering to Sai Baba on His 75th birthday some of the devotees
who now reside in North America share their wonderful experiences in this
new book titled Sai Awakening. The authors with various backgrounds
and occupations narrate how they were drawn towards Sathya Sai Baba through
His infinite grace and compassion and how they experienced His omniscience
in their daily lives. Even though some of them had to undergo intense
pain and suffering remembering and chanting God’s name has helped them
alleviate the pain or at least reduce the suffering and raise their consciousness
to a higher level. I would recommend this book for anybody who wishes
to deepen his or her faith in Sathya Sai Baba. Non-believers have
been transformed into believers and those who were already involved in
spiritual saadhana say that their devotion to God was further intensified
after coming into contact with Sai Baba. Price: CA$8.00;US$5.60
