"Baba - God is Love - Live in Love" is a wonderful book, put together from Baba's discourses on many topics regarding our way of living and relationships with ourselves, our children, our family and God.

Grace Mc Martin, who compiled all the material, was driven to put together this book because of the increasing way that children are being mistreated today, due to a lack of love and absence of protection. She states in the preface that twenty years ago the neglect of children and child abuse were largely hidden or unacknowledged problems, which is not true today anymore, due to the increasing awareness of these issues. Ms. Mc Martin asks: "Where do we begin to solve this?" And she answers: "At home."

From here on she leads the reader through portions of Sai Baba's discourses on womanhood, motherhood, children, teachers, God and Love. A large portion covers the role and responsibilities of schools with its teachers - a beautiful section on the innocence of children and the importance of nurturing them through loving teaching, planting the seed for a loving world. Baba says: "The father, the mother and the teacher are the three primarily responsible for moulding the future of the country - the teacher more than all."

And the last section of the book gives us the sweet qualities of God and Love, which leaves a very warm feeling with the reader and encourages us to follow the path to live in love.

This book is more spiritual than religious and attempts to explain the relationship between God and the entire creation, from spiritual and scientific angles, as well as the role of an Avatar (Divine Incarnation) as Sathya Sai Baba. The author of this book Madeline Guillemin had an insatiable thirst for realizing God's omnipresence. This led her to research many different books of different religions and through her own personal experience arrived at the conclusion that God indeed exists all around beyond the walls of her church. Her research led her finally to Sri Sathya Sai Baba and she claims to have experienced the ultimate Truth through Him.

The book gives in detail the effects of Law of Karma (action), on rebirth and interesting examples of young children who remembered their past lives. These cases were investigated and were proved to be valid! Reincarnation is a process by which a soul evolves, one life after another, shedding its animalistic traits and manifesting its inherent divinity in full glory and ultimate union with God. She also describes the three Gunas (qualities) that shape our attitude and actions that lead us towards bondage or liberation. Our food intake has great impact on these gunas. She suggests that spiritual seekers avoid eating meat. She praises Sri Sai Baba's message for open-minded enquiry that seekers should make rather than follow Him or any other spiritual teacher blindly.

The author has appropriately used many quotes from the western scholars, saints and of course Sri Sathya Sai Baba to provide clear scientific insight of spirituality. The words of Sai Baba sum up the message of this book "spiritual progress has to be achieved. Body, mind and spirit – these three together make up the man. The three are intertwined and interdependent. Each promotes the other. Without the mind, the body cannot decide on any step, but mind and body have to become subservient to the spirit and become aware of the divine Atma". The book offers lots of valuable pointers that will help to practice Sai Baba's teachings on a daily basis.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s love and grace is encompassing human beings all the four corners of the world. This book contains the experiences of one such family who lived for sometime in Africa before returning to India. All the members of this family have unique experiences of Baba’s infinite love and grace and they are sharing them with the readers of this book. Most of them started with scepticism about Baba at first but soon turned into ardent devotees due to His infinite blessings.

The author has recorded many educating and faith-enriching experiences including the one when Prema Sai Baba (the third Sai Avatar yet to come) appears before the author and her mother. She also narrates the conversation that took place in the interview room at Prashanti Nilayam between Bhagavan Baba and some young African students of Sri Sai Baba’s school in Zambia. Once again these events are revealing the divine love and powers of Bhagavan Baba. There is also a message in the book about slow but definite transformation that comes in the lives of most of those who go to Him for material and physical problems and sufferings. After their contact with Baba and experiencing His unconditional love, their values, desires and attitude to life changes and their lives get new meaning and sense of purpose. It is an interesting book where Baba is described as the Embodiment of Supreme Divinity which guards, sustains and educates all those who surrender to Him.

Through his book "Discovering Martial Arts", the author Deena Naidu explodes the myths surrounding Martial Arts. Contrary to popular belief, the Martial Arts are not merely a "physical" technique for self-defence. As practised and taught by the masters in ancient India, China and Japan, the martial arts were a harmonic blend of spiritual and physical activity. As the teachings of the Martial Arts made their way to the West, the spiritual component was lost.
